The verdict:
This is without doubt the most scenic location we’ve been to since the Isle of Skye. Apart from a toilet on the farm there are absolutely zilsh facilities but who cares. No Wifi. No hook ups. Just sheep. Barns. Mountains. Fresh air & vistas to die for, and for £6/night/unit you can’t go wrong. Happy campers. 6/5 for sure ^_^

    • Had a little look online for you. Would appear for the bargain price of $1200 you can RORO (roll on roll off) your car into Southampton……….alternatively splash out $6600 on a container and you & the van could be here in no time at all ^_^
I know what I’d rather be doing with that kinda cash…..

  1. That area was always one of my favorite spots in the Peak. The circular walk from Longnor up Chrome Hill and High Wheeldon was a classic. Need to back now you can go up Parkhouse Hill now, it was off limits in those days. What a stunning little farm site as well

    • You obviously know waaaaaayyyyyyyy more than we do – we just turned up and hoped for the best; although we did see the circular walk on the map we chose not to do it as Henry’s legs are ancient and we didn’t want to leave him on his own for too long. So we had a couple of cheeky pints in the neighbouring village then headed back. Be rude not to :))
Also spotted on this trip: wild deers!!!!! A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
And yes, the farm was definitely a true gem find. Bit slopy though so I’m guessing that’s what’s stopping it from being crowded. Bonus ^_^

    • Don’t be too envious………..as I’m looking out of the kitchen window right now: rain. rain. and more rain. Forecast: rain. yay. 11 degrees at the end of May??? ridiculous!!! Heard you had yet more snow again in Switzerland? Even more ridiculous. Roll on the summer!

      • yeah in Zermatt they had 40cm of snow today… it is strange and the worst spring in over 30 years and we have rain until some time next week. I gave up on spring not sure about the summer…

  2. Hi Babs,

Just been admiring your van, very nice!
A bit better kitted out than my transit.
Looks like you had a fine few days, makes all the difference when the sun shines :-)

    BTW

I have added a “Subscribe to posts” option on my website, hope this helps?

    Cheers,
    Paul

    • Wowzers, am I THE worst person to respond to comments!!!??? Apologies for being so late Paul, and thanks for the *subscribe* option, promptly followed!
      Until next time,
      Babs B
